PINE RIDGE RETREAT

Back woods lodging with ALL the comforts of home, surrounded by woods and adjoining Pike State Forest .

1.8 miles from Pike Lake and 3 other lakes - Rocky Fork, Paint Creek and Lake White -  puts our place close to all the fun!!  Minutes from Cave Canyon (formally Seven Caves Nature Preserve),  Magic Waters Amphitheater, Christmas at the Cabin, Paint Valley Jamboree with Live Country Music every Saturday Night, Tecumseh, Indian Mounds, Rocky Fork Lake, Paint Creek, Lake White, Anderson Lake, Country Crust Bakery and JR's General Store, all owned by local Mennonites, State ATV trails, and much more.  There are just under 13,000 acres of state forest to explore right off our private 22 acres.  Hike for miles or go hunting without ever getting into your car. Great for hunters, you can hike right to state forest and hunt without driving anywhere!!

You can also enjoy your visit with fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, horseback riding, Frisbee golf at Pike Lake or just exploring the hills. Other interests in the area are Antique shopping in Chillicothe, the first capitol of Ohio, it is just a hop, skip and jump away with plenty of shopping oppurtunities.

There are 33 miles of bridle trail located in the forest as well as many hiking trails. Hiking is also permitted on the bridle trails. Bird watching, photography, collecting nuts, berries, and mushrooms are all pursuits which hikers may take advantage of.

For those who want to stay on the beaten path, there are numerous county and township roads that pass through the forest. One of these roads is where our Greenbriar Ranch is located.  During the spring the red buds and flowering dogwood trees provide spectacular displays of color, not to mention all the wildflowers that blanket the forest floor.

Our hills come alive again in the fall with a panorama of vivid colors. Alas you have the celebration of the Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge, which is every third weekend in October. Not to mention the many activities surrounding our small community.  In the winter you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the majestic snow covered pines.  Come explore and enjoy the quiet life here in the hills of southern Ohio.

I want to thank all our customers for making 2009 run smoothly,  we are hoping that the 2010 year has more success.
